Hypnotherapy in Salisbury
      Hypnosis for sexual problems

Intimate or personal issues can be more difficult for people to seek help for or talk about, but professional and private help is available whatever your case. Sexual dysfunctions in both men and women are common, and Julie always deals with them sensitively and discreetly for your complete peace of mind.

Impotence (Male Erectile Disorder or erectile dysfunction)
A very common problem for men, impotence is where men find it difficult to get an erection, or cannot maintain an erection during sex. This can lead to feeling like a failure, frustration, feelings of inadequacy, feelings of rejection, and feelings of being 'on the spot'.

Premature ejaculation
Premature ejaculation is the most common sexual dysfunction in men younger than 40 years old. Premature ejaculation is the persistent experience of ejaculating too quickly with hardly any sexual stimulation. Premature ejaculation often occurs before the man wants it to, either before or during sex.

The D.S.M. IV (the mental health 'bible') describes premature ejaculation as a condition where "the man climaxes too quickly resulting in disappointment and a sense of failure for both, is not directly caused by the use of substances, and causes marked distress and/or interpersonal problems."

Premature ejaculation can also lead to a lack of confidence, depression, a sense of failure, low self-esteem, and other emotional issues. It may also be triggered or aggravated by issues such as guilt, fear, performance anxiety (especially in the inexperienced partner, or with partners new to each other) and interpersonal issues affecting the couple.

Vaginisimus in women
Hypnotherapy can also help vaginisimus, a sexual problem affecting women where sex is painful or impossible due to intense involuntary muscular contractions around the genitals. Symptoms can include genital pain, loss of libido or sex drive, self-esteem problems, depression and much more.

Orgasmic dysfunction in women
When women fail to reach orgasm, even if they enjoy sex, it is known as anorgasmia - the failure to reach orgasm/climax. Sometimes there is a combination of anorgasmia and vaginisimus. Problems reaching orgasm are very common in women - some women have never achieved a climax, while others can only achieve it through masturbation.

Frigidity (Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder)
This is a general loss of sex drive (libido) causing frustration and problems within the relationship. One partner (usually female) avoids sexual intercourse, avoids sexual thoughts, or has no desire for sex.

Sexual Problems
It is often so difficult to talk to our loved ones especially when we have personal sexual problems. Thinking about sex and our sexuality has seemed embarrassing since puberty. That is when we began to have sexual thoughts. The thing we all need to remember is that we have all gone a through puberty and have all had to solve many a dilemma since we came into our sexual maturity. This an important time as we learn all about ourselves as grown up sexual individuals. While our bodies are maturing our minds are also changing. It seems that one minute that we are children with few problems or worries and the next we realise we don’t know ourselves at all.

Whether we are embarking on a new relationship or having problems in a long term relationship it is always easier to talk to a stranger about these various different problems we are having than to approach the subject with someone we know, because we feel judged in some way.

When men have erection difficulties, they can't stay hard long enough to satisfy themselves or their partners and it makes them feel very inadequate, disappointed and rejected. They feel it is their fault and there is so much pressure to make it right the next time. Of course that adds to the pressure the next time and the whole problem gets worse the more times it happens, the more pressure, the more difficulties.

Some men even though they are turned on can't get the desired effect at all; it not only makes them feel useless, their partners begin to believe they are unattractive, which couldn't be further from the truth actually. Sometime this can be a temporary problem but sometimes it can last more long term.

From our first sexual experiences a man is expected to know where women like it, how they like it, when to go, when to stop....and the only instruction booklets are sold on the top shelf of our newsagents. Where here of course are examples or the perfect sexual experiences of men with large penises embarking on wonderful, fulfilling intercourse with gorgeous women with the most perfect bodies and they both result in the biggest orgasms. This is not real life however and just clouds our judgment about our own bodies, sexuality and performance.

It is all so much pressure for a man to 'perform' sati factually is it any wonder that sometimes they can't get it right for us women?

So true for women also who lose their sexual urges sometime in their lives, their partner can often feel rejected. Many women have been awaiting their sexual urges to arrive and it seems it never has. 30% of women have never reached orgasm in their lives. 50% of women would rather masturbate than have sex with a partner.I am sure everybody would be proud to be talked about as being the best lover their partner has ever had, but sometimes life gets in the way, we live with so much stresses at work and at home that when we get to bed is it any wonder we cannot switch off and relax, even if we so want to.

I deal with all types of sexual issues form performance related problems to more severe issues from erectile dysfunction to vaginismus.
So whether you are male or female, straight or gay, hypnotherapy can help with these problems, firstly by lowering your stress levels, dealing with past issues if you have any and then making the change for the positive. Some of the stress you are aware of as it is currently happening in your life and some of the problems you could have bottled up from long ago.
