Hypnotherapy in Salisbury
      Frequently Asked Questions

Is hypnosis safe?
Yes. Hypnosis is a very natural process. Hypnotherapy is a valuable alternative to drugs to relieve stress, anxiety, panic, and other problems. It will accelerate healing, reduce the need for prolonged anaesthesia and control pain.

Do you use drugs or tablets?
No. Hypnotherapy aims to help you off any dependency. Although many clients are already taking prescribed drugs, hypnotherapy can be used alongside them.

How many sessions will I need?
This depends on the problem. Smoking, nail-biting, and similar problems usually require 1-3 sessions of Suggestion Hypnotherapy. More deeply rooted problems such as anxiety, stress and depression require what's known as Analytical Hypnotherapy, and may need only 6-9 weekly sessions.

Am I aware of what is happening under hypnosis?
Yes, probably more aware than in a normal conscious state. You will feel much like you are in the 'day-dreamy' altered feeling - both consciously and unconsciously aware at the same time.

Are there any people who cannot be hypnotised?
Not really. Only people with severe learning difficulties or under the influence of alcohol or drugs could hamper the process of using hypnosis.

Is hypnotherapy suitable for children?
Yes, very much so because their emotions and experiences are still 'fresh' in their minds. Young clients come from the age of about 8 onwards, and Julie has had considerable success seeing many children as clients. They must be accompanied by an adult, preferably their parent or guardian, when aged under 17. Will I remember what happens?
Yes. Since hypnosis is a state of heightened awareness, all clients will remember everything that happens during a session. At the same time, clients find it a great relief afterwards to reflect upon experiences when releasing problematic emotions.

Can I be influenced and controlled under hypnosis?
No, and Julie would never attempt such a thing. The International Association of Hypno-Analysts (IAH) have very strict codes of ethics which Julie always abides by. Her clients' welfare is always paramount.
